MURALS

Q: How much should I expect to pay for a mural?

A: Mural rates vary dependent on square footage and amount of detail per mural.  The artwork itself will be the determining factor of the final price. High detail work over more square footage will require higher payment.

Q: How Long does a mural take to finish?

A: The time to complete a mural is dependent on hours the muralist is permitted to work. If hours are completely open, estimated time to completion is approximately one week for a mural under 150 square feet, though some jobs may finish much quicker.  Keep in mind the concept development phase is typically an extra 3-5 days.

Q: What does the typical mural process look like?

A: The mural process is comprised of 4 stages. The first stage is the contractual agreement between the client and artist, wherein the client agrees to pay a given non-refundable deposit amount upfront (to be applied to final price) for any time spent drafting concepts, working on proposals, and buying materials.  The second stage is concept development taking an average of 3-5 days; concepts can be altered, approved, and requested to be completely remade during this stage.  Upon concept approval, the muralist will come in and begin working on the mural and take half of the complete payment upfront.  Lastly, once the mural is finished, the client provides the remainder of the payment (minus the deposit amount) and the artist will varnish the mural to protect the paint (if stated in agreement).
